I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.
Loving that on a cold, grey Sunday afternoon when we have nowhere special to be, we can just hang out at home playing board games. We started out with Battleships until the boys lost interest and Noah started cheating by peeking at the other board.
So we put a stop to that and moved onto Pop Up Pirates where somehow we got conned into giving the winner of each round a lolly (I blame Grandma, according to Mylo she started this tradition when she was here - Grandma what do you have to say for yourself!), then we had a game of Junior Scrabble which Noah won before moving on to our family favourite, Creationary. Daddy's creations are always miles ahead of anyone else - can you guess what building structure this was meant to be? If you guessed airport, you'd be right!
There's satay and then there's SATAY
Loving arriving home after a trip to the hairdressers to an amazing dinner cooked by hubby that really was restaurant standard. Wow. We will be cooking this one again.
Or more to the point, HE will be cooking this one again!
Classic reads
Loving finding classic stories to read at the library. I have fond memories of Ping the Duck from my childhood so it was awesome to be able to share it with my boys. It was funny timing though as just last week over Easter, mum and I had reminisced about the book because we were taking the mickey out of Mylo who currently says 'something' as 'someping' which immediately makes me think of the book. And having just visited Northland recently and seen Opo the dolphins grave, it was also cool to read the story of how she came to be such a big part of the local history of Opononi.
Lazy afternoons lying on our bed upstairs reading feel like such a guilty pleasure. I love these times.
Cool mama
Being a mama in this Star Wars mad house I figured if you can't beat em, might as well join em!
Mummy & son time
Loving one-on-one time with my little guys. It was the littlest one on this occasion when we went to Zealandia for the afternoon. Although we got a little more than we bargained for when we were having a closer look at the baby tuataras in their enclosure. That spider was on MY side of the glass....when you consider it's over half the size of that tuatara then it's no wonder I let out quite the shriek and jumped backwards at the speed of light!
Stormy skies
Loving mornings like this. And I'm making the most of being able to take early morning photos like these, as once I'm in my new job out in the Hutt next month, I won't get the opportunity to take such gorgeous pics of the inner city in the morning. I will definitely miss it.
No more sleeps!
This weekend I get to meet all these lovely people....and more!
I'm so excited to be part of NZ's first ever official blogging conference (at least I think it is?!). The Internet is gonna get bombed with photos, stories and maybe even some groupy onesie-wearing shots - ha ha - you'll have to watch this space!
Here's how you can join in this week:
