Book Review: The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society.

I loved this book. Loved it. LOVED IT. In fact, I never wanted it to end. Ever.

If you need your spirits lifted, you need to read this book.

If you've ever wondered where the heck Guernsey is, you need to read this book.

If you've ever questioned the goodness in humanity, you need to read this book.

It was without question one of the loveliest books I have read. I couldn't fault it.

Well actually, that's not true. It was over too soon. I could have read twice as many pages (there were only 240) and I think I would still have been left wanting more.

I tend to be a library book reader or a borrower of books. I don't own many books at all - in fact I could count them on one hand. The Bible. Cry the Beloved Country. The Shack. These are about all the noteworthy ones I can conjure up from memory at this particular moment. But having finished this book, I now wish I owned a copy of this book. And I dare say, I will not stop until I do.

All I can say is you need to find yourself a copy of this book. Find it by any means you can. But believe me, it will be difficult not to devour it in one sitting.

You will laugh (it is incredibly witty). You will cry (it is poignantly sad at times).

And you will turn the last page wondering whether it be considered silly to go back to the first page right now and read it all over again.

For the brilliant review that made me immediately want to place this on reserve at the library, click on Remaliah's post here.

And for Simone's equally glowing review, click here.

Linking up with Mrs Readalot's Book Club linky over at Remaliah's place this month.

Ooh I'm SO happy you loved it!! Me too, and exactly...I didn't want it to end either!! I just loved how the characters felt so REAL and humourous in a very normal way...oh, I could go read it a third time easily :) Have a great week there! xx

A few of us from my mothers group have started a book club, and this is our first book. Very excited to read it now!
