MNM's Make: Draw a Dog Story

This is such a cute way to engage kids in learning to draw an animal face. You might know this story under a different variation but here's ours:

Once upon a time there was a boy with no face and no arms

One day as he was walking along he got chased by six bees

So he had to jump into a lake to escape from them

While he was swimming in the lake, he saw two caves at the end of the lake

And inside each cave, he could see a hungry looking bear watching him

So he got out of the lake and ran around the forest looking for a place to hide

And while he was running, he saw two more lakes where he could hide.

And there you have it, your very own dog face!

When I tried this with Noah, I didn't tell him what we were doing but just started the story and got him to draw what I was saying (copying the one that I was doing on another sheet of paper). He was so excited to see the face when it appeared.

I'm sure (if you were artistic with your drawing - which by these you can clearly tell I'm not!) you could come up with some other stories to try and draw some other animals too!
