Things I'm Loving 8.2.13

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

A change is as good as a rest
I got inspired last weekend to finally design a new blog template. Yes the inspiration came to me pretty late on a Saturday night, nearing midnight - what of it?! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow when it's flowing right?!

My favourite part of the redesign is being able to link up the direct feed from my Instagram pics on the right hand side (thanks for that idea Paisley Jade!). Do you like the new look?!

BBQ corn
Isn't BBQ corn just the best?! Loving how well it accompanies anything on the BBQ. Might I add that the corn in Northland was quite possibly the best of the summer!

Resilience
Loving that despite a very big knock to the head after tripping over and meeting the coffee table head on, my wee guy has bounced back pretty quick, albeit with a lovely shiner to show for it!

Sevens fever
Loving walking down in town last week amongst the craziness that is the Wellington Sevens . Some of the favourite costumes we saw are below....so many Lance Armstrong (doping cyclists) characters, Marmite (we're over a year and counting with no Marmite production in NZ - it really has become like black gold!), Post It People (how long must that have taken to do), and people wearing Scrabble letters (I'm a huge Words with Friends fan so if I was going to go to the Sevens I would be up for doing this!)

16 night streak
I cannot remember another summer where we ate outside for 16 nights straight - 7 in Northland and then 9 in Wellington when we got back from holiday. What a summer!

That was promptly followed by an incredible summer storm the very next day when we got a month's worth of rainfall in one day - no amount of money would have made me sit out and eat dinner in this just to keep the streak going mind you!

Honeysuckle
Did anyone else used to pick honeysuckle flowers and then try and suck the nectar out of them? It has such huge memories of childhood for me, and now I've got Noah into it as well. There's a honeysuckle bush at the end of our street so without fail when we walk past, Noah always looks to see if there are any flowers ready for the sucking.

Butterfly Corner
Lately we have been mesmerised by the amazing number of yellow admiral butterflies that seem to be living on the corner of our street, so much so that we have renamed it 'Butterfly Corner'. They flutter around us every time we walk by and are just so lovely to watch playing happily in the sunshine that it never fails to make us smile.

Don't you worry child...
A little late to the party I know, but I have just discovered Swedish Mafia House. Their song 'Don't you worry child...Heaven's got a plan for you' is freakin awesome! Yes I am closet house music fan and proud of it!

Here's how you can join in this week:

Link up below with your blog post telling us what you're loving, and grab the Things I'm Loving button below for your post too. Don't forget to share the love by visiting all the other lovelies who have joined in - the linky is open till same time next week!

I love butterflies too they are so amazing and did you know they are also deaf? Amazing huh - they often use them as a symbol for deaf week here. (Monarchs are any way I can't actually speak for all the others)
