Undeniably Autumn

Winter is an etching
Spring a watercolour
Summer an oil painting
And autumn a mosaic of them all

By all these lovely tokens
We know April days are here
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer

Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree

No spring nor summer beauty
hath such grace
As I have seen in one
autumnal face

Autumn is a second Spring
When every leaf becomes a flower

Just before the death of the flowers
And before they are buried in snow
There comes a festival season
Where nature and all within her are aglow

The days are warm to dance barefoot
With feet worshiping the sky
And every swing seeking faster
That cerulean kiss from on high

Oh Autumn you slay me
With your fiery gaze
Your lips are an incredible shade
Yet I cannot fathom your ways

Arriving so swiftly
And capturing my heart
But gone again in a matter of weeks
Leaving a soul torn apart

You are a passionate lover
And I wistfully remember you
When your loss is filled with Winter's doom
And grey skies replace blue

It's hard to believe we're just entering spring and you're in fall there. lol. Autumn is without a doubt my favorite season to photograph- just wish it were longer. Your pics here are gorgeous! Love the one of the tree looking up, that single red leaf on the ground is amazing, and the swing shots are so fun! So much packed into this post. A virtual feast for the eyes. Thanks so much for sharing and linking to WW today!

Lovely pics as always! I still can't get my head round the fact that you guys have autumn at this time of year. But then I suppose you find it weird that we have Spring just now!

Such a brilliant poem Meghan! Absolutely beautiful!

I loved the words alone - but the photographs are of course a feast for the eyes!

I read we have just enjoyed the warmest April on record :) It certainly felt wonderful and this post is such a great tribute to it.

Love your pictures, especially that super-macro one of the red leaves on the ground. The poems were very sweet too xxx
