A portrait of my children once a week, every week in 2014
Mothers Day was made pretty special this year. A few weeks back when enjoying Masterchef the boys got the idea of designing a menu and cooking a meal for me. There were secret bedroom meetings and whispered conversations. Then late afternoon after we got back from our walk at Makara Beach I was banished to the bedroom upstairs so they could work their magic.I was allowed to come down and take a couple of photos mid-making. Other than that I had not a clue what was going on or what the finished product was going to be.
My Mini Masterchefs Mother's Day menu:
Starter: Caesar Salad with Poached Egg
Main: Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Satay and Sweet Chilli Dip
Dessert: Apple Crumble and Custard.
An incredible amount of thought went into this - far better than any meal out in a restaurant. To be surrounded by those I love eating food made with their love, that's the best Mothers Day a mama could ask for.
