Things I'm Loving 13.4.12

Rediscovering dress ups
One day last week, we rediscovered the dress ups in the cupboard. It was a Captain Hook meets Buzz Lightyear mash up party. We had fun trying on some of Mark's spare moustaches he had left after his Billy-T get-up for the Wellington Sevens, and looky here....in doing so I accidentally found my best Adolf Hitler impression too.

Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light
I've been so enjoying singing this little wee ditty on the way home with Mylo. We go through about six sets of lights between daycare and school to pick up Noah, and it's become our new favourite song to sing in the car anywhere, anytime.

Twinkle, twinkle traffic light
You are red and green and bright
Red means stop, Green means go
Orange means go....slow
Twinkle, twinkle traffic light
Standing on the corner bright.

Sometimes he comes out with red and blue and white instead of red and green and bright, which only adds to the cuteness factor.

Is it a bird or a plane?
Or should I say, is it a sandal, a boot, or a shoe? I'm yet to decide. But I'm loving wearing these Melbourne bargain buys whatever they are!

Craft-tastic
There's something about Christmas and Easter that seems to bring out all the crafting genes in me. The boys and I have had all manner of fun crafting up a storm these past couple of weeks doing Easter crafts and much, much more. Wacky sacks, I-spy bottles, beach in a bottle, homemade lava lamps, you name it, we've done it! Watch this space for some How To's on our favourite crafty creations.

Sugar rush
There's no denying the thrill of an early morning easter egg hunt around the garden for little people. Me, I just loved the golden glow of the early morning light surrounding the hunt. And I loved the fact we were able to ration the spoils without many complaints, i.e. 2 mini eggs and the ears of the rabbit is all you can see them eating here cos that is ALL they ate....till the afternoon's hike up Mt Kaukau called for some much needed mid-hike sugar boosts that is anyway!

I loved loved loved this. Please take the time to watch this, you won't regret it. This was 10 minutes of my life well spent. You will laugh, you will cry (unless you are hard as nails with no feelings!), you will feel restored in the goodness of humanity, and let's face it, we could all do with a little more feel good moments in the world!





15km to go...
Not sure whether I can truly saying I'm loving the thought of a duathlon looming ahead of me this weekend, but I'm hoping I'll be loving the fact I've achieved it at approximately 10am Sunday. So to put you in the picture, a few months back I agreed to do the REAL series duathlon with my good friend Tracey. It seemed like a great idea at the time. Apart from the fact that I recently had 2 whole weeks with no running and biking when we were in Melbourne and the week after we got back when my body clock had not adjusted to NZ time at all and I could NOT get out of bed. So these last two weeks have been a bit of a hardcore catch-up trying to make sure I'm somewhat prepared for the 5km run and 10km cycle to come. And now its upon me. Eeeeek! Hopefully the prospect of a belated birthday dinner out at one of Wellington's finest restaurants Logan Brown on Sunday night will be enough motivation to keep me going on the day!
